My Bikes
I've been riding since 1989 when I got my first "real" bike through the PX while stationed in Germany. I rode the piss out of that bike and had it for a long time. While I was home on leave the year after I got the '89 I had a chance to pick up my '75. That bike was a blast and when I got back stateside I rode it from Alabama to Ft. Bragg N.C. since the '89 was in a crate somewhere on its way to the states. Once I got the '89 back in my hands I found an old pre-72 frame with a bolt-on hardtail and stated to chop the 75. Not long after that I ETS'd and finished the bike when I got home. Eventually I burned the hell out of a piston because of the shitty adjustable bendix I let someone talk me into running. After that I moved on to Triumphs for awhile. Now I have come back full circle and have obtained another Ironhead and am ready to rebuild my new baby.
The latest acquisition, a 1977 XLH.
So far struts in the rear, bobbed rear fender, solo seat, apes and a later model
front fender are just a few of the changes planned. The second pic is the from
the Mock up. If you want to see the latest on this bike
go here.

My first (real) bike was a 1989 Harley Davidson Sportster, bought it in Germany through the PX.
I put about 35,000 miles on this bike. The custom flames on the tank were done
by a friend in Germany using spray paint and a shower in the barracks as a spray
booth. I finally had a pro paint job put on
and had the pin striping and lettering done in Daytona in 1994. I then slid the bike
into a tree about 3 weeks later. I repaired it and rode it for another year
before it was stolen, recovered and then disassembled to paint and install an
1100 kit. About this time I got married and never had time to work on it so I
sold it in pieces for enough to buy a 1979 Triumph Bonneville.
My second bike was a 1975 HD Sportster XLCH I bought while home on leave from Germany and needed transportation.
The inside pictures are a friends apartment from when the generator went out and
I needed to stay downtown close to the HD dealer to get it fixed the next day
(this was before I learned how to do this shit myself, plus I was home on leave
and didn't feel like screwing with it).
The pic with me was taken outside Cherokee NC on my way to Ft. Bragg from
Birmingham, Alabama. I had that
bike loaded down. The next four are the transformation to a chopper. Soon after
I finished it I burned a piston and the bike sat out back until a friend traded
me back a 70 Triumph I had sold him a few months earlier after he turned it from a turd to a jewel,
but was still dieing for a Harley.
These are pics of the drag bike I did
some marketing for a longtime ago. Unfortunately this launch killed the team
because the axle adjuster broke and let the chain wad up around the front
sprocket and blow the case apart. We never could get up enough cash to rebuild
it and without a running bike we couldn't get a sponsor.
The rest of my bikes are a 1970 Triumph TR6C that was a joke when I bought it for $200.00 with a brand new motor in it (previous owner was a doped up dumbass).
I'm just about finished with the latest build of this bike. Not long after
I bought this bike I sold it to a friend for $300. He turned it into a really
nice chop, but he still wanted an HD so he offered to give me back this bike in
exchange for the old 75 Sporty that was rotting out back. Of course I said
Yes!!! I was on my way to school one day (older college student) when I was rear
ended by a semi at a stop light. Luckily he was only going about 10 mph and I
heard him coming and stood up. You can see the seat folded in half. The last pic
shows the bike rebuilt, unfortunately water got in the engine during the bikes
reconstruction and it took me almost 6 years to scrape up the money to rebuild
it. Click here to see the page all about the latest build
of this bike.
Fourth bike, a 1979 Triumph Bonneville. This is the bike that got me the new
Honda that I ride to work every day. I'd been working on this bike for a few years
(blown head gasket and then broke head bolt) and my wife finally heard
enough wrenches bouncing off the walls. So she told me to go get something that
runs ;-) Gotta love a good woman like that.
Last but not least my everyday commuter bike. It's an 03
Honda Shadow ACE that I've had for about 3 years and have put over 56,500
miles on it. Basically I just ride the piss out of it and change the oil every
once in awhile. I've made a ton of changes to this one and really have a blast
with it. The kids love the Batman stuff on it and since I'm too old and married
to care about cool I figured I could get away with it. ;-P The first pic
is when it was new the 2nd was from a few months ago and the last is the latest pic I
have of it.
